Dear PoxNora Community,
The development team has been working extremely hard the last few months getting the PoxNora Revamp ready to roll out. We?re aware of how anxious many of you are to see it, as you share the same passion we do for the game and we?re happy to say it?s finally here! Optimizations and streamlining will load PoxNora even faster and give an amazing new feel while still maintaining the strategic depth we?ve all come to know and enjoy. This revamp will bring a number of changes we?d like to make you aware of.
Station Integration
On launch day, PoxNora will be integrating into to the SOE Station system. Station will offer players not only increased customer support but a new level of account security. This will also allow us to utilize SOE?s Station Cash, a virtual currency and commerce solution that allows players to purchase in-game items across a number of SOE titles. PoxNora players will now be able to purchase Station Cash Cards in many North American stores. A Station account will be required to play, so players will need to merge their current PoxNora account through a simple process on the PoxNora.com site.
Gameplay Changes
One of the most discussed changes to PoxNora was the streamlining of Attack/Defense and Speed. The Action Points a champion receives each turn now directly correlate to Speed, with a reserve cap of four Action Points. The Damage attribute has been removed and Attack has been adjusted to reflect to this change. Actual damage done to a champion is simply a matter of subtracting Defense from Attack. Specific examples of Speed and Attack/Defense can be found on the forums.
In addition to these attribute changes we are streamlining the champion customization to allow for optimal builds. Players will be able to select two of four available upgrades by leveling their champions. Existing champions will retain their experience and convert into the new system. Avatars will be moving to a similar, more linear leveling system with standard builds for each. Tokens you?ve previously used to reset champions will now add direct experience to your champion, removing the need to ?grind? levels.
We?ve also taken this time to revamp some of our older champions and make numerous bug and description fixes. Expect to see familiar friends from the past make a return to the limelight.
New Player Update
We?ve completely changed the walkthrough and tutorial system to make PoxNora even friendlier to new players. Limited Starter Battlegroups will now be earned by completing a walkthrough of that faction. This will allow players to get a chance to learn the game and see those runes in action at the same time. Each Starter Battlegroup will also now include a Warbanner to insure they are well equipped for both Single and Competitive play.
The lobbies have also been redone to provide an improved environment and clear indication of gameplay type. New players will now begin in the Single Player lobby and after trying the walkthroughs and campaigns they can progress to the Training Grounds. This should help transition players into Ranked Play a little easier.
Improved Website
The PoxNora website has been redesigned from the ground up with new faction skins and enhanced usability. The Rune Manager stacks your champions and sorts by Race and Class meaning no more searching through pages for what you want. Battlegroups are now created on the same page which allows you to look at what you have while adding more.
The Rune Trader, Player Profiles, and Ranking page have also undergone visual improvement changes. Overall we think everyone will be pleased with how the new site looks.
In the next few days/weeks PoxNora will enter a Beta period which will allow you to see how your runes play in the new system. During this time we will be soliciting feedback and paying special attention to balance changes. If you?ve been away from PoxNora, this is the perfect time to come check us out again.
We look forward to seeing you and hearing your thoughts!
