It had been suggested by a few people that we do more video contests. It had also been brought to my attention that we need to show some newbies some love (not noobs by the way – we all hate those 
). I whole heartedly agree.
Let’s be honest here, FlyFF, as with ANY MMO needs new players. New faces keep things fresh, they help to grow our community, and there’s no other feeling quite like genuinely helping out a newb and watching them progress into a formidable ally and more importantly a good friend.
For our latest video contest, we want you all to create a FlyFF New User Tutorial that will serve as a sort of guide for new players. We want you to show the ropes of FlyFF, how to get around, what to do – literally teach someone who is completely new to FlyFF or even online games for that matter how to play. This is your chance to educate and help out any newcomers that want to join our community.
Need some guidelines? Things like how to get started, where to go, how to level up, how best to interact with the community, what resources do users have available to them, etc. Use your imaginations and think about how you would help your best friend get started in FlyFF without actually giving him or her any items.

PRIZES
As with the last video contest, prizes will be given out to the top 10 Videos submitted.
This time around, we will giving out 3 Sony Playstation 3 120 GB Units.
Here’s the breakdown:
1st Prize (1 Winner)
- A Sony Playstation 3, 120 GB Unit.
- A Perfect S Class Pet of your choosing with 3 lives.
- Stacks of 50 Sunstones, 50 Moonstones, 50 SProtects, and 50 GProtects.
2nd Prize (2 Winners)
- A Sony Playstation 3, 120 GB Unit.
- Stacks of 50 Sunstones, 50 Moonstones, 50 SProtects, and 50 GProtects
- An existing country cloak of your choosing.
3rd Prize (7 winners):
- Stacks of 50 Sunstones, 50 Moonstones, 50 SProtects, and 50 GProtects
- An existing country cloak of your choosing.
RULES
- This Contest will start on March 9th, 2010 and will end on March 30th, 2010.
- Videos may be up to 10 MINUTES long.
- Videos must be posted on http://www.youtube.com/ by 11:59:59 PM PST of March 30th, 2010. You will need to send us the link to your video after it is posted by posting a message on the Newbie 101: A FlyFF Video Contest Thread on the FlyFF forums (that’s this thread) with a link to your video.
- Winners will likely be posted on the Official FlyFF US YouTube Channel and in this very thread during the first week of April.
- There will be one 1st Prize Winner, two 2nd Prize Winners, and seven 3rd Prize Winners.
- Only one entry/video per user will be allowed.
- Make SURE that the account you are posting from has the correct email address associated with it. We will be basing the submission off of the account it was posted under so make sure your personal information is correct! Winners will be contacted by Private Message through their FlyFF forum account. We will make reasonable attempts to contact the winners. If the gpotato account ID cannot be verified with a connection to the video submission, than the user will be disqualified and another winner will be selected.
- The top 3 winners should allow 6 – 8 weeks for delivery of the Playstations.
- While we will pay all shipping costs related to sending the Playstations, we cannot cover any customs fees that may be required if you live in another country.

Employees of Gala-Net, their affiliates, parent companies, participating vendors, subsidiaries and advertising and promotion agencies, and anyone working directly on this program, product and promotion and the immediate family members or those living in the same household of each (Sponsor and Administrators) are not eligible to enter.2. CONTEST DESCRIPTION.
The Contest is skill-based, and the object is to submit one video (1-10 minutes long) for judging for the chance to win prizes as described below. This Contest is conducted in the United States of America and is governed by California law, and by entering you agree to accept jurisdiction and venue in the Courts of the State of California, U.S.A.3. ENTRY CRITERIA
All entries submitted must be original, must not have been previously published, released or distributed for commercial use and must have been created and owned exclusively by the entrant submitting the creation. All submissions may be posted on a publicly accessible web site following the contest. Gala-Net disclaims any and all liability for any infringement of any 3rd parties rights in any submission caused by any entrant.4. JUDGING:
A panel of FlyFF GMs (Judges) will review eligible entries and select the ten (10) winners based upon the following criteria, each to be weighted equally:
• Originality
• Technical execution
• Visual Impact
• How well this video teaches new users about how to play FlyFF
Judges will announce the winners sometime in the first week of April. The decisions of these judges are final and binding.5. RIGHTS TO USE ENTRIES.
All artwork submitted for this contest is owned solely and exclusively by Gala-Net, its licensors or its affiliates, and are protected by applicable U.S. laws and regulations, and international treaties relating to copyrights, trademarks, and other intellectual property rights. Under no circumstance will you obtain any ownership interest in any such proprietary subject matter pursuant to these Terms of Service or otherwise.6. CONDITIONS OF PARTICIPATION.
This Contest is void where prohibited. Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for Sponsor and Administrators to use that winner's name, likeness, picture and Entry without additional compensation for promoting the contest unless and where prohibited by law. Illegible, unviewable, unintelligible or incomplete Entries will be disqualified.
