Greetings everyone :3,

We’ve cooked up a new event to give all you Madrigal citizens something to get excited about. We’ll be holding the first ever Pet Adoption Fair on each server!

This event is very similar to the GM Bake Sales. We will be going into each server, and selling Perfect C and Perfect B class pets (that’s 1.3. and 1.3.5. pets respectively) , each with two extra lives for under market value prices.

Those prices are as follows:

C Class Pets

Perfect C Class Unicorns and Tigers will be sold at 20 Million Penya per pet.
Perfect C Class Foxes, Rabbits, Dragons, Lions, and Griffins will be sold at 15 Million Penya per pet.

B Class Pets

Perfect B Class Unicorns and Tigers will be sold at 100 Million Penya per pet.
Perfect B Class Foxes, Rabbits, Dragons, Lions and Griffins will be sold at 75 Million Penya per pet.

The scheduling for this event is as follows:

Lawolf – Thursday, Mar. 11th, 2010 10 AM PST – 12 PM PST.

Greetings all,

It had been suggested by a few people that we do more video contests. It had also been brought to my attention that we need to show some newbies some love (not noobs by the way – we all hate those ). I whole heartedly agree.

Let’s be honest here, FlyFF, as with ANY MMO needs new players. New faces keep things fresh, they help to grow our community, and there’s no other feeling quite like genuinely helping out a newb and watching them progress into a formidable ally and more importantly a good friend.

For our latest video contest, we want you all to create a FlyFF New User Tutorial that will serve as a sort of guide for new players. We want you to show the ropes of FlyFF, how to get around, what to do – literally teach someone who is completely new to FlyFF or even online games for that matter how to play. This is your chance to educate and help out any newcomers that want to join our community.

Need some guidelines? Things like how to get started, where to go, how to level up, how best to interact with the community, what resources do users have available to them, etc. Use your imaginations and think about how you would help your best friend get started in FlyFF without actually giving him or her any items.

As with the last video contest, prizes will be given out to the top 10 Videos submitted.

This time around, we will giving out 3 Sony Playstation 3 120 GB Units.

Here’s the breakdown:

1st Prize (1 Winner)
- A Sony Playstation 3, 120 GB Unit.
- A Perfect S Class Pet of your choosing with 3 lives.
- Stacks of 50 Sunstones, 50 Moonstones, 50 SProtects, and 50 GProtects.

2nd Prize (2 Winners)

RULES

This Contest will start on March 9th, 2010 and will end on March 30th, 2010.
Videos may be up to 10 MINUTES long.
Videos must be posted on http://www.youtube.com/ by 11:59:59 PM PST of March 30th, 2010. You will need to send us the link to your video after it is posted by posting a message on the Newbie 101: A FlyFF Video Contest Thread on the FlyFF forums (that’s this thread) with a link to your video.
Winners will likely be posted on the Official FlyFF US YouTube Channel and in this very thread during the first week of April.
There will be one 1st Prize Winner, two 2nd Prize Winners, and seven 3rd Prize Winners.
Only one entry/video per user will be allowed.
Make SURE that the account you are posting from has the correct email address associated with it. We will be basing the submission off of the account it was posted under so make sure your personal information is correct! Winners will be contacted by Private Message through their FlyFF forum account. We will make reasonable attempts to contact the winners. If the gpotato account ID cannot be verified with a connection to the video submission, than the user will be disqualified and another winner will be selected.
The top 3 winners should allow 6 – 8 weeks for delivery of the Playstations.
While we will pay all shipping costs related to sending the Playstations, we cannot cover any customs fees that may be required if you live in another country.

Moving along, I’m sure more than a few of you have been waiting for this theme. Quite similar to the weeks where we did “Scenes from a Movie” and “Famous Cartoons” we want you all to do screenshots of famous scenes from famous Anime or Manga with your FlyFF characters! Please post a comparison screenshot from your chosen Anime as reference. Also, feel free to use captions or subtitles in your entry!

Winners of this week’s Screenshot Contest will receive their choice of any of the Yukata’s that have been released so far!

Greetings FlyFFers

So I’d been going through FlyFF’s Social Networking Sites (you know, MySpace, Facebook, XFire, and Twitter) and have noticed that they’re actually quite boring and nothing more than standard fare.

After some discussion with the other GMs, we’ve decided to mess around with them and do something fun.

From here on out, we will be holding small, mini impromptu in game events known as Social Networking Site (SNS) Events! What does that mean? Basically, I will be posting a list of possible games here in this thread with their rules, how they work etc.

The catch? I will ONLY be announcing them on the MySpace, Facebook, XFire, and Twitter pages. That means you’ll have to sign up for an account on those four sites, join our pages or follow them w/e, in order to find out when and where these events are taking place! These will be small but frequent occurrences, and none of these events will detract from any major ones that we host; so for those not interested in making a social network site profile, there won’t be too much lost But, I do promise that these mini events will be novel, quirky, and fun

Is everyone clear on that? Let me give you an example. Let’s say, one of the GMs wants to go in game to run a buff event (the GM will raise his INT to something ridiculous and start handing out random buffs). I will announce it only on lets say Twitter, and give the time, server, channel and location – voila, mini event for those that are following Twitter!

Or let’s say we feel like spawning a random Clockworks somewhere out in the open. I will go on XFire, post a secret password, server, channel, and location…and the first 10 ppl to come up to me and say the secret password will get a clockworks spawn!

That’s pretty much all there is to it!

Before I start listing the games/events we’ll be holding, here are a few quick things to note:

These events/games are all GM run I’d hoped to implement more in game GM time for all of the GMs to actually see and interact with you all.
These games/events are still official events. So please don’t try to interrupt them or you will face consequences.
All servers will get AT LEAST one of these events every week; possibly more!
These events will not replace or detract from any major scheduled GM event.

Alright all, I’ve been wanting to implement this for a while…

Starting today, we will be having a weekly Themed Screenshot of the Week Contest that runs from Monday to Friday. The title pretty much says it all but here are the rules:

You’ve seen the Cloak Design Contest and the Version Video Contests, well now we’re throwing something real special at you – the Design a Masquerpet Contest!

What we want you to do is simple – draw, design, and provide us with concept art of your very own original Masquerpet! (you know those evil annoying monsters that you grind off of?) The 3 best designed masquerpets will be given to the game developers at Aeonsoft and actually be implemented into the game! Wouldn’t you all like to see your creation living and breathing and attacking you in all it’s glorious and pixelated form?

Additionally, If that wasn’t enough, we’ll also be awarding a special set of prizes that will be announced at a later date!

Motivated? Great! Here are the rules then:

The FlyFF Design a Masquerpet Contest begins today (January 8th, 2010) and ends on Tuesday, January 26th, 2010 at 11:59:59 PM PST
A submission must be 3 2D images (or 1 image containing your design in 3 2D poses) – one shot of your masquerpet from each of the following profiles: front, back, and side. All images must be colored. Furthermore you must specify whether or not your masquerpet is a small, medium, or large monster. Small being the size of an Aibatt or Mushpang, Medium being the size of a Violet Magician Trouper, Large being the size of a Mushpoie or Shuhamma. Last but not least you must also name your monster.
3D images and models WILL NOT be accepted. We understand that many of you may be very talented with programs such as Maya or 3ds Max, but please keep in mind that this contest is intended so that anyone in our community may participate.
There will be 3 all around winners that will receive the same prize.
You may submit multiple designs, but unfortunately you will only be allowed to win once. Furthermore, please try to keep your submissions below 10 per person.
Images may be hand drawn and scanned or made with an image creation application such as Photoshop or Illustrator.
Please try to keep each of your images to below 1000 x 1000 pixels.
All entries must be original and of the submitter’s own creation.
All designs must be posted here in this thread before the January 26th deadline.

The Tournament of Champions II – Underground Edition!!!

For those of you not familiar with the first event, the FlyFF GM team will be hosting a grueling, teeth gritting, but glorious PvP tournament to pit the best of the best in each specific class against each other. This your chance to take up the mantle of “Champion of Madrigal” and to lay all others to waste. Fame, bragging rights, and the fear from those that you defeat and those that witness your mad skillz are just some of what await the victors. (Cherished, soon to be announced bling and prizes to be awarded as well.)

Bring the pain, lay the smackdown on your opponent, wipe the floor with their mangled pixelated (yet unbloodied) corpses while chanting “Dood I pwnz you bro!” It’s bound to be frigging awesome. The best part?
We’re hosting it in the underground lair of Clockworks. His rustic foreboding and industrial pad will prove the perfect backdrop for a prime fighter to beat someone down. Are you game? If so, read on.

3) 192 players per server will be allowed to participate in the event.

From December 30th, 2009 to January 19th, 2010 we will be hosting the second Level Up Event! For those of you that were around over the summer, this is going to be similar to the Endless Summer Leveling Event. How this works is quite simple actually. As you level up during the event, you will receive special rewards whenever you reach a certain level. That’s all there is to it!

A few notes about the event before I list the rewards

1. All items from level 1 – 62 are EVENT classed items and are non-tradable.
2. Everything else from the level 64 reward to the level 121 reward are non-event, and you are free to trade them as you please. (unless otherwise noted.)
3. If you level to 120, then do the Master Quest and level to 60, you can get the items from 62 again!
4. If you delevel to a previous level, you cannot get items for leveling up again. So please, save yourself the trouble
5. The Indigo Butterfly Wings (Level 121 Hero Reward) will not be given at the time of achieving Hero. This item will be automatically given to all characters that reach Level 121 Hero after the event comes to a close.

and as suggested by the title of Polynike’s maintenance thread, a new menacing creature has seen fit to infest Madrigal.

DO NOT BE FOOLED by it’s appearances! IT WILL SHOOT LAZORS at you and will uh…nibble your bum!!! That’s the most foul, cruel, and bad-tempered rodent you ever set eyes on! Look, that rabbit’s got a vicious streak a mile wide! It’s a killer! He’s got huge, sharp… er… He can leap about. Look at the bones!

Rumors are that the little bugger has a small chance to drop a box that has a small chance to contain one of the 3 new fuzzy hats that the gods and goddesses Shade, Iblis, and Bubble wear However, be aware that those around this crazy critter’s level stand a better chance of actually gaining the coveted box That’s not to say that Heroes and Masters can’t obtain the box ^^; Just giving you all a hint here.

Note that this little guy will only be spawning throughout the next 5 days to coincide with the exp event! (Though he might show up in the near future )

The Spirit of Christmas (Quest) Event!

To top off all of the crazy Christmas festivities that are going on right now, we’re throwing one more thing at you FlyFFers – A Spirit of Christmas Quest!

Some of the Saint Morning locals are trying to help the rest of Madrigal get into the Christmas Spirit. You see both Bozman and Martin were previously a bit stumped on how to do this. With some collective thinking, however, they came up with the perfect idea – Christmas trees for all!

Now, they’ve come up with their own ways to help each other out with this grand endeavor. Here they are:

Martin would like to grow these trees, and boy does he want to grow them fast! After all he’s got less than 10 days before Christmas Knowing that all FlyFFers are helpful little heroes, he’s requesting your aid!
He would like for any able body to bring him the following:

10 Enriched Soil Deposits (which can be collected from the collecting fields)
10 Waters (which will be dropping off any regular masquerpet level 15 and above)
10 Chunks of Soil (which will be dropping off any regular masquerpet level 15 and above)

Meanwhile, Bozman would like to find ways to enhance, decorate, and spruce up the trees that Martin creates! He’s got the right idea, but he needs you to gather the following:

10 Glasses (which can be collected from the collecting fields)
10 Waters (which will be dropping off any regular masquerpet level 15 and above)
10 Pieces of Rope (which will be dropping off any regular masquerpet level 15 and above)

Do this and there just might be enough trees to pass around to the other citizens of Madrigal. they’ll also be sure to compensate you handsomely for your efforts with – a Holiday Medal!

What will you do with this Holiday Medal you may ask? Well that’s the best part! Pay a visit to none other than Helgar in Saint Morning, and you’ll have a choice of the following:

Trade in 5 Holiday Medals for your choice of any of the following: a 7 Day Male or Female Rudolf Set, or a 7 Day Male or Female Santa Set!
Trade in 1 Holiday medal for your choice of any of the following: 2 Christmas Cakes, 2 Gingerbreads, 10 Vanilla Cupcakes, or 4 Christmas Teas!

Well, there you have it FlyFFers. Looks like you all have your work cut out for you! It’s the Christmas season all, have a heart and lend your hand in spreading the Christmas spirit to Madrigal!

Notice: Character Clean-up!

In order to improve performance across all game servers and provide the best possible service, we will be performing FlyFF’s first-ever Character Clean-up!

On Tuesday, December 22nd 2009, we will be running an extensive maintenance on all servers. In addition to the routine server checks and updates, we will also be undergoing a massive character cleanup. Please review the following details:

Any inactive character that is level 15 or below (Vagrants), that have not been logged into since March 31st, 2009 will be removed from the accounts they reside on. It’s important to note that, while the characters will be removed, they *can* be recovered for a limited time should there be a need to do so.
This will ONLY affect characters that are level 15 and below that have not been logged into since March 31st, 2009.
If you have a Vagrant character that you do not want to lose, please log in to this character BEFORE December 22nd, 2009. Provided the character has been logged into since March 31st of this year, it will NOT be removed from your account.
Last but not least, should you lose a Vagrant due to this upcoming maintenance and want him/her recovered, WE WILL RESTORE your character for a limited time so long as you submit a ticket requesting us to do so. Requests to recover any missing characters as a result of this upcoming maintenance must be submitted within 60 days following the December 22nd, 2009 maintenance.

It’s that time of year again, FlyFFers, and we’ve got a special sale planned for all of you!

Starting on December 14th, our 12 Days of Christmas Sale will begin! Each day of the 12 days leading up to Christmas, a new item (or items) will be released. It's been a while since we had a little forum contest 'round these parts, wouldn't you say? With the Launch of V13 and all, the new Website, Cash Shop, Forum redesign, and the permanent price reduction of several Cash Shop items, we decided it's time to have another forum contest!

This contest will run for 2 WEEKS and the winning submissions will be displayed on the FlyFF Website for download by players AND we will be giving away ten (10) $25 Gift Certificates (winner can choose Fandango, Amazon.com, or GameStop) to the top 10 FlyFF Wallpaper Submissions (1 gift certificate per winner)!

1. To submit pictures, you must post them here in this thread.
